Childhood trauma is associated with a wide array of neurodevelopmental, physiological, psychosocial, and emotional challenges beyond those captured by posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD)—especially in instances of multiple and/or repeated traumas and traumas that occur in the context of a caregiving relationship.
