EFFECTIVENESS OF SIMULATION – BASED LEARNING IN NURSE EDUCATION

Ciljevi: Spoznajni cilj istraživanja: utvrditi učinkovitost treninga temeljnih hitnih medicinskih postupaka u izvanbolničkoj hitnoj medicini kao dijela projekta kontinuiranoga stručnog osposobljavanja radnika u djelatnosti hitne medicine. Pragmatični cilj istraživanja: ponuditi smjernice za unaprjeđenje procesa osposobljavanja medicinskih sestara izvanbolničke hitne medicine. Metode: Istraživanje je provedeno postupcima anketiranja, samoprocjenjivanja i procjenjivanja prije i poslije treninga temeljnih hitnih medicinskih postupaka u izvanbolničkoj hitnoj medicini pri Zavodu za hitnu medicinu Splitsko-dalmatinske županije (u daljnjem tekstu ZHM SDŽ). Rezultati: Rezultati provedenoga inicijalnog ispitivanja pokazali su da su se ispitanici u samoprocjeni sigurnosti u obavljanju većine temeljnih hitnih medicinskih postupaka (87,50 % postupaka) osjećali prilično sigurnima dok su se donekle sigurnima osjećali u izvođenju manjeg broja temeljnih hitnih postupaka (u 12,50 % postupaka). Rezultati provedenoga finalnog ispitivanja pokazali su da su se ispitanici u samoprocjeni sigurnosti u obavljanju temeljnih hitnih medicinskih postupaka osjećali gotovo potpuno sigurnima za razliku od inicijalnog ispitivanja gdje su se osjećali od donekle do prilično sigurnima. Zaključci: Zaključeno je da je učenje kroz simulaciju bilo učinkovito i da su polaznici treninga zadovoljni i programom i sudionicima treninga.Objectives:The cognitive objective of the research is to determine the effectiveness of the training courses in essential emergency medicine procedures in outpatient emergency department as a part of continuous professional training of emergency medical technicians.The pragmatic goal of the research is to offer guidelines for improving the training process of outpatient emergency medicine nurses. Methods: The research was conducted by means of surveying, self-assessment and evaluation before and after the training course in essential emergency medicine procedures in outpatient emergency department at the Institute of Emergency Medicine of the Split-Dalmatia County (hereinafter ZHM SDŽ). Results: The results of the initial survey showed that the subjects in the self-assessment of confidence in performing the majority of essential emergency medicine procedures (87,50% of procedures) felt quite confident, while they felt somewhat confident in performing a smaller number of essential emergency procedures (12,50% of procedures). The results of the final survey showed that the subjects in the self-assessment of confidence in performing essential emergency medicine procedures felt almost completely confident, in contrast to the initial survey when they felt somewhat to quite confident. Conclusions: It was concluded that learning through simulation was effective and that the trainees were satisfied with both the program and the trainees
