This report describes the results of emission measurements on 18 Dutch dairy farms between October 2018 and February 2020. Goal of the measurements was to determine the average methane emission (CH4) from dairy housing and the variation within and between farms and to explore the effect of different farm characteristics on the emission. These farms could be characterized by animal breed (HF vs MRIJ), type of management (organic vs non-organic), floor type (slatted floors vs solid floors) and inclusion in the ‘Koeien en Kansen’ project. Beside methane emissions also emissions of ammonia (NH3) and nitrous oxide (N2O) have been measured.
