The amount of solid waste is rapidly increasing due to urbanization. It is difficult for Municipality alone to handle the solid waste management without the proper collaboration of respective community. This paper examines the challenges of implementing the community based solid waste management project in Chuchepati area. It is prepared after several rounds of discussion, interviews, observations and field visits of the Chuchepati area of Kathmandu valley.</div
