Abstract Understanding the morphology of the superior aspect of the proximal femur is critical for treating femoral fracture. We assessed the correlation among the ideal insertion point of the femoral nail, femur head-neck axis, and native anteversion. One hundred patients with normal femurs were included in this study. Computed tomography (CT) images of the proximal femur superior aspect and amount of native anteversion were acquired. Generalised Procrustes analysis showed the morphological characteristics of the superior proximal femur according to native anteversion amount.
