Purpose: The economic crisis has led to a series of transformations of the economic and population base of the contemporary spatial units. The present study aims to highlight the indirect impact of the economic crisis on the operation and spatial footprint of the business network in a region with a slight decrease in its population dynamics in the decade 2001-2011.
