Los dominicos y los sermones cuaresmales en el cabildo municipal de Córdoba durante el siglo XVII

This work has as a target the study of the significant role of the Dominicans in Cordoba and the rest of the religious orders in the sermons established by the council in the meeting room during the Thursdays of Lent. Throughout 17th century, all the spiritual children of Saint Domingo of Guzman invited belong to the influential and prestigious convent of Saint Paul the Royal. One exceptional case is the blessed friar Francis of Posadas, member of the Scala Coeli comunity, who has a great ancestor in the Cordobesian society of his time due to his commendable pastoral work and his life witness. The valuable information contained in the records chapters of the council constitutes the main documentary source used. Resumen: El trabajo tiene como objetivo el estudio del importante papel jugado en Córdoba por los dominicos y el conjunto de las órdenes religiosas en los sermones instituidos por el concejo en su sala de sesiones durante los jueves de cuaresma. A lo largo del siglo XVII todos los hijos espirituales de santo Domingo de Guzmán invitados pertenecen al influyente y prestigioso convento de San Pablo el Real. Un caso excepcional es el del beato fray Francisco de Posadas, miembro de la comunidad de Scala Coeli, quien goza de un gran ascendiente en la sociedad cordobesa de su tiempo por la encomiable labor pastoral y testimonio de vida.
