La matrona ideal según las fuentes grecorromanas

Greco-Roman authors displayed in their writings a distorted version of the real female context, prejudiced and in many cases far from the real situation experienced by the Roman woman. In this lines it is analyze this literature that somehow characterizes woman as a pious, modest wife in her daily life and of course dependent on the male. However, this is not the actual image that presented all the matrons of the Empire in their daily practices. In fact, we cannot be sure precisely which gender relations were established according to social groups. Added to that is the omission of real data that in literary sources, mostly of a male origin, suggest the constant detriment of women relative to men.Los autores grecorromanos contemplaron en sus escritos una versión distorsionada del contexto real femenino, llena de prejuicios y en muchos casos alejada de la situación real vivida por la mujer romana. En estas líneas se pretende analizar esta literatura que, en cierto modo, caracteriza a la mujer como una esposa piadosa, modesta en su día a día y por supuesto dependiente de la figura masculina. Sin embargo, esta no es la imagen real que presentaron todas las matronas del Imperio en sus prácticas cotidianas. De hecho, no podemos asegurar con precisión cuáles fueron las relaciones de género que se establecieron según los grupos sociales.
