Delimitación espacial de las zonas probables de salida de aludes en el macizo de Peñalara mediante el uso de SIG

Avalanches are a type of natural risk that threatens certain mountain areas. Although this risk has never been very high in Spanish mountains, the number of avalanches’ victims in the last decades has increased substantially due to the increasing human occupation of these areas. This is why there is a growing interest in studying avalanches’ dynamics both from spacial as well as temporal points of view. This study analyses avalanches detected in Peñalara’s massif, in the Spanish Central Mountain Range, and applies a Geographical System Information (GIS) based methodology to determine the areas that are most exposed to this type of natural risk.Las zonas de montaña presentan una exposición natural a ciertos riesgos naturales entre los que se encuentra el desencadenamiento de aludes. A pesar de que nuestro país no presenta, en general, un riesgo elevado de desencadenamiento de aludes, el número de víctimas por ellos se ha ido incrementando en las últimas décadas debido a la creciente ocupación de las áreas de montaña. Todos estos hechos hacen que el estudio y análisis de la dinámica de aludes, tanto en su vertiente espacial como temporal, presente cada vez mayor interés. En este trabajo se han analizado los aludesregistrados en el macizo de Peñalara, ubicado en el del Sistema Central y se ha utilizado una metodología basada en el uso de Sistemas de Información Geográficos (SIG) para localizar áreas favorables al desencadenamiento de aludes en este macizo.Avalanches are a type of natural risk that threatens certain mountain areas.
