¿Cómo avanzar en la tutoría universitaria? Estrategias de acción: los estudiantes tienen la palabra

ABSTRACTUniversity current regulations organize students´ right to receive orientation during their learning process in order to contribute their integral development. Therefore tutoring becomes a requirement to university community, although this is no guarantee of a right development. This paper is meant to deepen in its implementation from the perception of Murcia University´s Education students, and analyzing strengths and weakness associated to that process. An ad hoc questionnaire is designed: Using and Satisfaction on University Tutoring (Cuestionario de Utilización y Satisfacción sobre Tutoría Universitaria- CUSTU), applied to 976 students during the year 2010/2011. The results recognise as the leading strength the fact that tutoring improves the personalization of the learning process and as key weakness its meagre development, as a consequence of this. The improvement proposal most issued is to increase face-to-face tutoring. This and other issues verify the results of other analyses and qualify the fact that tutoring without commitment, planification, coordination, training, resources and acknowledgment will always be an institutional objective to reach and a false chimera.RESUMENLa normativa actual de la universidad regula el derecho del alumnado a recibir orientación a lo largo de su proceso formativo con la finalidad de contribuir a su desarrollo integral. La tutoría se convierte así en una exigencia para la comunidad universitaria, aunque esto no sea garantía de un adecuado desarrollo. Desde este trabajo se pretende indagar en su puesta en marcha a partir de la percepción de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Murcia, profundizando para ello en las fortalezas y debilidades que éstos asocian a la tutoría, así como en las propuestas que plantean para su mejora. Para analizar estos y otros aspectos, ya que este estudio pertenece a una investigación más amplia, se diseña un cuestionario ad hoc, denominado Cuestionario de Utilización y Satisfacción sobre Tutoría Universitaria (CUSTU), aplicado a 976 estudiantes a lo largo del curso 2010/2011. Los resultados reconocen como fortaleza más destacada que la tutoría favorece la personalización del proceso formativo y como principal debilidad su escaso desarrollo, como consecuencia de esta última la propuesta de mejora más expresada es incrementar las tutorías presenciales.
