ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of incidence of child abuse among secondary school students in Edo State with focus on guidance and Counselling implications. In order to accomplish this, four research questions were raised: (i) What was the extent of child abuse among secondary school students in Edo State? (ii) What were the frequencies of occurrence of child abuse? (iii) Was child abuse more prevalent in rural than urban area? (iv) What were the common causes of child abuse?
