Evolución en los procesos e itinerarios de las personas sin hogar en España: ¿retorno al pasado?

This paper uses 2005 and 2012 “Survey on homeless person conducted by the National Statistics Institute (INE) “to empirically investigate the relevance of social exclusion in Spain among this population, researching the childhood and the loos of housing. Gaining a better understanding on will be a particular relevance to contribute in social policy evaluation. The results point out an increasing of the risks of homelessness in Spain and the most important changes experienced between 2005 and 2012. Three ideal types of itinerates has been found: new poverty, social exclusion and integrated poverty. Finally, we have analysed how each one of these groups presents a specific morphology of vulnerability among demographic composition, structural, relationship and institutional factors. During this period, the new poverty as increasingly important mechanism and the impact of the structural problems in different itinerates. A partir de la información suministrada por las “encuestas a las personas sin hogar” elaboradas por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE) se analiza empíricamente la formación de los itinerarios, haciendo hincapié en el período de la infancia y de la pérdida del alojamiento. Los resultados muestran la graduación de los itinerarios y los cambios experimentados entre los años 2005 y 2012. Se han detectado tres tipos de itinerarios en la infancia: nueva pobreza, desafiliación y pobreza integrada. Estos tipos de recorridos se relacionan con las características demográficas y las causas que ocasionan la pérdida del alojamiento, diferenciándose estas últimas entre los problemas de corte estructural, relacional e institucional. La evolución durante el período analizado pone de manifiesto el crecimiento del fenómeno de la nueva pobreza como mecanismo cada vez más importante de exclusión social y el impacto de los problemas estructurales en las personas sin hogar y en los distintos tipos de itinerarios identificados.
