International audienceAccording to the literary sources, was the pagan character of the baths in the Greco-Roman world really a problem for Jews and Christians between the fourth and seventh centuries ? Abstention and opposition can be found in the speeches of both Jews ad Christians regarding a place considered indecent and even evil. Actually, they all used baths for hygienic or therapeutic purposes, once baths were not seen as sacred anymore.
