The purpose of this project was to call into question a commonly held belief in mainstream academia regarding the state of Jewish identity in the United States. Whereas contemporary scholars tend to concur in their assertion that American Judaism is in decline, as it succumbs to complete assimilation, or amalgamation, an alternative view holds that this is not the case. In fact, this project concludes that dynamic expressions of Jewish identity, changing from one generation to the next, have continued to sustain Jewish America.
