International audienceWhether referred to as a taste, style, trend or fashion, rococo has resurfaced in the context of literary analysis since the 1960s and even more markedly since 2000. However nebulous, rococo is a historiographical category deriving from the decorative arts and fine arts which has been taken up by literary critics – such a transfer has major theoretical implications for the study of the first half of the eighteenth century.
