Esslingen Jewish Community Collection 1931-1998

This collection contains materials on the Jewish Orphanage of Esslingen (Israelitische Waisen- und Erziehungsanstalt Wilhelmspflege), as well as other items dealing more generally with the history of the Esslingen community.Relating to the orphanage are photographs, an orphanage newsletter from the postwar period (1962), and a pre-war newspaper clipping. A speech by Hans Georg Hirsch explores both the history of the orphanage and of the community more generally. The speech in particular delves into the work Hirsch's relative Alfred Schweizer accomplished for the Esslingen community.
