Presented at the GLOBELICS 6th International Conference 2008 22-24 September, Mexico City, Mexico.The paper presents the possible relationship of Indigenous Knowledge (IK) and Technological Innovations (TI) to poverty alleviation in Tanzania. It also, identifies the types of Indigenous Knowledge exist in rural areas; the mechanisms through which IK and TI are exchanged and diffused; the challenges of IK and TI adoption and application to poverty alleviation. Finally, recommends the strategies in improving IK and TI adoption and application for sustainable development and poverty alleviation
