International audienceIn the context of a play by Joël Pommerat, we describe an activity conducted in a French as a Foreign Language classroom at the university level. We analyze how the theatrical use of voice and space allows students to better understand the text and furnishes them with an entry into written and oral expression. Furthermore we see how the technique of the play-within-a-play allows learners to enter into the performance and turns them into specta(c)tors.Cet article relate une expérience menée en cours de Français Langue Étrangère dans le cadre d’un diplôme universitaire à partir d’une pièce de Joël Pommerat. Nous analysons comment la mise en voix et en espace constitue une approche de la compréhension et de l’expression écrites et orales ; comment les situations de théâtre dans le théâtre permettent aux apprenants d’entrer dans le jeu de l’interprétation et peuvent les rendre spect-acteurs
