The ageing of the population and the consequences of dependence are changing support needs. These problems are major in Bretagne. The accompaniment of the old person is carried out by the family and various professionals among whom the home-care worker. Epidemiological surveys have them as exercising a profession at risk: the relational work, professional isolation and painful and precarious working conditions weaken their health. From the ecological and socio-environmental approaches defining the determinants of individual development, we identify a strong interdependence between the home-careworker (caregivers) and the elderly.
