Concert Programs Collection. 1885-1932

Assorted programs and advertisements for various concerts and musical performances, primarily in the classical and opera genres. The concerts represented here include more intimate chamber recitals and Liederabende, as well as larger orchestral and choral performances. The overwhelming majority of programs advertise or documents events in Berlin, but there are also several from other cities. Furthermore, programs for the Sing-Akademie zu Berlin, the Berlin Philharmonie, and Saal Bechstein occur with the greatest frequency. All of the programs display the engagement of Jewish individuals in the classical music scene of Wilhelmine and Weimar Germany as performers, conductors, and promoters.
