International audienceUnderstanding polycrystal plasticity requires the comprehension of the single crystal behaviour and the elementary physical mechanisms at the origin of plastic deformation. Therefore, in this article, the results of tensile tests carried out at room temperature on two different aluminium single crystals, a 99.99 per cent purity and 99.5 per cent purity aluminium, are presented. The whole experimental procedure used to collect the data, from the production of the single crystals to the computation of the stresses and strains, is fully described.
