Electromagnetic material characterization is constantly increasing due to many industrial applications in microelectronics, aeronautic, geology, medicine, automobile, civil engineering, etc. In the same time, dimensions are shortened as high frequencies are required for high-speed and microwave communication devices. In this work, we developed different techniques to characterize thin layer materials in a broadband frequency range without lithography. A coaxial test fixture has been developed and applied to soft materials such as 900MHz liquid. The use of two transmission line techniques permitted to correct discontinuity effects occurring in the connector areas.
