Dr Kevin Eva and Patterson Ferguson were the first ones to develop structured multiple interview stations for undergraduate medical school selection. Thereafter MMIs have been used widely in other disciplines and postgraduate induction process of residency program, specifically at Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh.
