Token economy systems are reward based, behavior modification programs that can service many facets because it uses positive reinforcement instead of punitive measures to obtain the desired behaviors. In this project an individualized token economy system was used to modify disruptive behaviors with students who have emotional disabilities. The final phase of this study was developing a handbook, a tool teachers can use when developing and implementing a token economy system in their classroom. Data for this project was collected using a convenience sample from a high school special education classroom
