The purpose of this qualitative study was to determine what support the faculty and staff of an urban elementary school needed in their education of students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The faculty and staff voluntarily completed a survey designed for the purpose of the study. The results of the study were used to design a portfolio for students with ASD that would help faculty and staff to have a better understanding of them and would provide strategies for teaching them. This portfolio would travel with the student throughout their school career. The portfolio included two major components; a profile of the student with ASD and a section with research-based strategies for teaching students with ASD
