Parker H. Petit Distinguished Lecture 2002

Presented on November 14, 2002 in the IBB Building at Georgia Tech.As Chairman and CEO of Medtronic, Collins leads the largest and most diversified medical technology company in the world. With current revenues annualizing at more than $7 billion and about two-thirds of those revenues generated by products introduced within the last two years, he deals with change and growth on multiple fronts. While his comments will focus on medical technology, his perspectives easily cross industry and geographic boundaries. Art Collins assumed the role of Chairman of the Board on April 26, 2002 and now serves as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Medtronic, Inc. Mr. Collins was elected Chief Operating Officer and member of the Board of Directors in 1994, President in 1996 and CEO in 2001. Previously he was Corporate Executive Vice President and President of Medtronic International with responsibility for all Medtronic operations outside the United States
