This unit examines: a) the situation in the Ottoman Empire and Cyprus on the eve of the conquest of the island by the Ottomans, the events of the War of Cyprus, as well as the policies adopted by the new rulers of the island.b) the application of the classical Ottoman system in Cyprus, in administration, landtenure, categories of population, as well as the position of the Church, in the first century after the conquest.
