Salomon Bachenheimer Collection 1832-1933

The collection contains a variety of documents, many of which date to the 19th century. The documents from 1900-1933 are primarily correspondence of Salomon Bachenheimer regarding his position of rabbi at various communities in north-west Germany. The 19th century documents consist of a letter from Rabbi Wormser, the Baal-Schem of Michelstadt, to Isac Bachenheimer (Salomon's grandfather), marriage certificates, various other certificates and deeds, some photos of Jewish community and school leaders.
