Metakaolin (MK) je tepelně aktivovaný materiál s pucolánovými vlastnostmi. Ve formě příměsi do betonu má schopnost zlepšit jeho fyzikálně materiálové vlastnosti a trvanlivost. Na vzorcích z dvou různých typů metakaolinu a na vzorcích bez MK byla měřena pevnost v tlaku, pevnost v tahu ohybem a modul pružnosti. Pak byla provedena zkouška jejich odolnosti vůči cyklům zmrazování - rozmrazování v kombinaci s působením roztoku chloridu sodného NaCl (zkouška CHRL). Zvláštní pozornost byla věnována vlivu povrchové úpravy vzorků na výsledky testu odolnosti proti CHRL.
