Personalizing anticancer treatment on molecular basis consists in optimizing the therapy according to the gene expression profiles of healthy and cancer cells of the patient. The molecular differences between normal and tumor tissues are exploited in order to maximize the treatment efficacy and minimize its toxicities. This PhD thesis presents a combined mathematical and experimental approach to optimize anticancer therapeutic strategies on molecular basis.
