The interpretation of exploration seismic data is a long and difficult work that requires geological and geophysical knowledge. Computer science is a useful tool to speed up the process by enhancement of interesting areas made of continuities (horizons) and discontinuities (faults, saltdomes ...). Wavelet analysis is perfectly adapted to continuities and discontinuities study and then to seismic images. In this work we briefly present the wavelet's theory and the different algorithms of wavelet transform. We discuss the problem of representation too.
