Marc Chemillier, rapporteur Jean-Marc Chouvel, rapporteur Jean-Pierre Briot, examinateur Christian Queinnec, examinateur Nicolas Meeùs, invitéThis thesis develops a computational method for automated musical pattern discovery, which consists in detecting repetitions of successions of identities, expressed along several musical parameters. On the sequence of notes is built a network of patterns, subsumed to pattern classes, which form a tree-like structure. In both networks are woven specificity relations, expressing in particular pattern inclusions, and enabling a minimization of both networks, by annihilation of all structures directly deducible from more detailed ones. Thanks to such minimization, musical segmentation is replaced with opt...
