Second order non linear properties have been studied in amorphous chalcogenide compounds in order to develop new materials for optical device. Second harmonic generation has been shown in Ge-In-S-CsI and Ge-(Ga,Sb)-S glass systems after a thermal poling treatment. Breakdown of the isotropy, leading to a high second order non linear susceptibility up to 8 pm/V, has been evidenced by using Maker fringes experiment.As the same time, new infrared materials have been developed. Infrared transparent glass-ceramics have been synthesized.
