Dense granular flows, which are common in nature and industry, have peculiar characteristics that seem to strongly depend on geometries. When the bottom, which supports the flow, can be eroded, the mechanisms determining the position of the liquid-solid interface or the velocity of the grains down the slope are not yet well understood. This case underlines the lack of knowledge about the rheology of dense granular flows.
