We have developed a new catalytic system for aerobic oxidation of benzylic substrates using N-hydroxy-3,4,5,6-tetraphénylphtalimide (NHTPPI)/CuCl. This system allows efficient catalysis under mild conditions with low catalyst loading. We have then reported the synthesis of easily modulable C2 symmetric organocatlysts, analogues of NHPI. Some of them bearing carbamates functions exhibit good catalytic activities in the oxidation of various substrates and a very good selectivity in the kinetic resolution of racemic oxazolidines, with stereoselectivity factors up to 40.
