The purpose of this work was to simulate multi-scale and multi-phase flows. In such flows, the main numerical difficulty comes from the numerical diffusion induced by schemes. Given the fact this diffusion does not depend on the chosen mesh, the use of a very fine one enables us to obtain accurate solutions. However, this approachis very costly in time and memory. As a result, an adaptive mesh refinement method (AMR) has been developed in order to follow either interfaces in two-phase flows or concentration of a pollutantin one-phase flows, accurately.
