We present population synthesis aiming to recover the statistical propertiesof the real population of galactic radio pulsars, biased by selectioneffects. We confirm that neutron stars are not born in majority as fastrotators and that the magnetic field don't decay significantly during pulsarlife.The knowledge of the total pulsar population permits us to study themagnetar sub-population, and also to model the pulsar contribution to thegravitational emission (galactic and extra-galactic) and to deduce itsdetectability by laser beam interferometers like VIRGO.
