This manuscript presents an experimental study of electronic properties of carbon nanotubes by photoluminescence spectroscopy techniques. The protocol of preparation and characterisation of luminescent samples, where nanotubes are properly isolated from each other, is first described,. Embedded in a gel, they can resist to temperatures down to 10 K. The first results concern stationnary photoluminescence spectroscopy. Performed on macroscopic ensembles of nanotubes, measurements lead to a precise determination of the chiralities and reveal several effects due to the coupling between nanotubes and their environment.
