The propagation of a flame in a disordered reactive medium brings into play so important disparities of length scales that its study remains inaccessible without a great effort of modeling. The analysis presented here relies on the use of percolation concepts by considering the combustion field as a collection of percolation clusters. Specifically, we focus on the combustion of disordered solid fuels for which flames only propagate along a network of preferential paths (or channels) distributed over the medium.
