This work is about laser percussionnal drilling and aimed at:• Understood physical phenomena during laser drilling,• Determined drilling geometry as function of experimental parameters. The first step was to identify and control the process parameters. By this way, next to this work, some characterization methods about laser source and its environment was set up. The limitation of traditional diagnostic lead to the development of a new analysis method called DODO (Direct Observation of Drilled hOle).The specific study on the physical process, bring some original and understandable answers about mechanisms during laser drilling process.
