This document written in 1974 analyses the specific characters of geography as a scientific discipline in Quebec province. It relies on a systematic survey of publications (books, journals and master and PhD thesis) and a few interviews of strategic actors. After recalling briefly the steps leading to the emergence of the scientific institutions, the main argument is about the influences from France, Britain and United States on geography at university level in Quebec. While the influences from Europe are essential, they did not mix much locally.
