Gene expression is frequently regulated during cellular life. Protein synthesis, also called translation, is the last part of that expression and is wholly regulated. Translation is divided in three parts: initiation, elongation and termination. Initiation commences by the 40S ribosomal subunit binding on the mRNA then scanned by her until it reaches the initiation codon. Many initiation factors are involved. Among them, eIF3 directly bind that subunit. During my work, I studied in a first part, the putative interaction between the factor eIF3 and the small ribosomal subunit 40S.
