Extraordinary transmission of light through optically thick metallic films milled by nanometric apertures is receiving a continuously growing attention from the scientific community. This kind of nanostructures offers many applications in nanophotonics. In this thesis, we propose to enhance the transmission thanks to annular apertures. Indeed, this new geometry allows the excitation of a guided mode inside the cavity. This mode is responsible for a large transmission much higher than the one mediated by surface plasmon resonance.The theoretical study uses a numerical method based on a Finite Difference Time Domain algorithm.
