Biogenic inventories used in atmospheric chemistry transport models (CTM) are simplified, because they are based on the application of emission factors which poorly integrate the influence of environmental conditions that govern NO emissions. The aim of this work was to improve the prediction of NO emissions from agricultural soils for use in the CHIMERE CTM. It is based on the agro-environmental model CERES-EGC, which allows to simulate the dynamics of nitrogen and water in the soilcrop system. The implementation of a parametrization of NO emissions and its tests with experimental data, showed that taking into account the first centimeters of soil to describe heat and matter transfers is crucial. The simulations of daily NO emissions showe...
