This thesis is about dual methods for solving contact problems with Coulomb friction. This kinds of problems ar generaly solved using finite elements methods written in terms of displacements. The proposed dual methods are written in terms of stresses and give better results in terms of stresses. Many technical points are described in this thesis : the establishment of the finite element method written in terms of stresses, the solution of the problem through various numerical methods wich take into account the contact and friction conditions. Comparisons between the results obtained by this method and a traditional method are carried out and show the gain of precision in terms of stresses. Two direct applications of the method are proposed,...
