During the last decades, several soil and water pollutions have been observed following intensive use of pesticides. By their high ability to adapt, soil bacteria acquired the ability to use these molecules as nutrient sources and so to degrade them. This ecological service is in situ submitted to numerous biotic interactions acting on bacteria and specially earthworm (soil engineers) bioturbation. The objectives of this study were to better understand these tight interactions between degrading soil bacteria and lumbricid macrofauna by using atrazine as a model.
