We present in this work the optical characterization of a new type of quantum dots, namely CdSe quantum dots in ZnSe nanowires.This study includes standard optical spectroscopy, where we measure the emission lines of a single quantum dot according to their energy, but also time resolved spectroscopy, like decay time or correlation measurements. The presented experiments allow us to study the fine structure of the exciton with the measurement of the energy splitting between the dark exciton and the bright exciton and the spin flip time between these two states.
