Nowadays, embryos' freezing is the main way to cryopreserve the rabbit genetic resources in the National Cryobank. The objectives of our work were to improve the embryos production and to develop the cryopreservation of MII rabbit oocytes by slow freezing and vitrification. Experiments performed on superovulation and synchronization treatments and also on timing between weaning and insemination show that the breeding conditions of the does are more important than the administrated treatments themselves. Moreover, the evaluation of the metabolism, the structure and the capacity of development of thawed oocytes suggest that vitrification and slow freezing strongly impair the oocytes by injuries associated respectively with their high sensitiv...
