One of major problems not yet solved in scanning near-field optical microscopy is the choice of the optimal emitter or sensor. Among the developed techniques, the use of metal probes led to the highest resolutions. The drawback of these nano-probes fabricated with metallic wire, is their opacity. A hybrid solution combining a transparent medium and a metal layer, for example a metallized optical fibre tip, present the double interest for the guiding of the light, and at the same time, for the existence of a specific field confinement. However these widely used nano probes present many disadvantages, the main of wich is the limited quantity of transmitted or collected light.
