This joint thesis between Université Joseph Fourier in Grenoble and Vietnam National University in Hanoi deals with the study of the magnetic and spin transport properties of GdCo based structures and Fe/Cr multilayers. GdCo is a ferrimagnetic alloy, the composition of which can be chosen to get compensation, i.e. zero net magnetisation, at a chosen compensation temperature, below Curie temperature. Films were deposited using the sputtering technique. They are amorphous with a growth-induced out-of-plane anisotropy.
